Special-purpose vehicles

BY HUBTEX

HUBTEX special-purpose vehicles are unique models specially customized to the specific conditions of customer use. The principle of the “customized solution” is our philosophy in the field of special-purpose vehicles. The vehicles are custom-built to meet the exact requirements. It is not easy to define a standard for these vehicles, nor is it easy to define the loads to be carried: Aluminum rolls, solid material, tubes, window profiles – the goods to be transported vary with regards to dimensions, weight and method of handling.
HUBTEX solutions in the area of special-purpose vehicles include large press and tool transporters as used in the automotive industry. For example, HUBTEX delivers this type of machines to Skoda in the Czech Republic. The electrically driven platform transporter moves bulky production tools and must be able to manage weights of up to 63 tons on deck.

Frequently asked questions
Here you will find answers to your questions concerning special-purpose vehicles

Do you react to individual customer wishes by means of your own special construction or by cooperating with other manufacturers?

Special-purpose vehicles from HUBTEX

This is exactly the strength and also the core competence of HUBTEX. Our vehicles are always in demand when mass-produced forklifts reach their limits. In the forklift truck factory we can already meet most of our customers' needs due to the wide range of options in our modular system. If no suitable solution can be found, we can even realise one-off productions with our individual production capacities. To this end, we involve our development department as early as the concept and quotation phase and plan an individual vehicle concept that is perfectly tailored to the respective application. We recognize that the boundaries between partially and fully automated systems are becoming increasingly blurred. Above all, equipping vehicles with numerous assistance systems to increase safety for people and goods as well as process efficiency is becoming increasingly important. Together with the large number of possible applications and the heterogeneity of loads, this ensures that the demand for individually adapted special solutions continues to grow.

Are there coil transporters, platform trucks and rail cars available as AGVs?

The transport of coils is one of the typical tasks for manufacturers of metal strips and wire in intralogistics. Typically, platform and track wagons are often used for this purpose. Alternatively, HUBTEX offers special coil transporters or electric traction heads as well as heavy duty compact forklifts. These vehicle types form the basis for automated processes. HUBTEX relies on a modular construction kit with automated functions, assistance systems and safety components that are gradually being integrated into series production vehicles. This includes, for example, automatic positioning which navigates the operator directly in front of the correct shelf compartment after entering the desired position. HUBTEX has already anticipated the step-by-step automation with assistance systems: In the basic construction of the vehicles, cable routes, holders and sensors are pre-planned, with which the devices can also be automated later on.
