Fruit processors and co-operatives need to move large volumes of standardized bins safely within a short period of time. Using tractors with trailers and conventional forklifts involves a high level of labour, particularly where cold stores are spread across large areas and access aisles are narrow.

HUBTEX developed the KTR 120 Bin Carrier specifically for this application. It can pick up complete stacks of bins directly from the floor, transport them over long distances, and set them down again without the need for additional equipment. This significantly reduces labour requirements and allows freed-up resources to be deployed elsewhere.

Transport of apple bins at a fruit co-operative

In June 2016, HUBTEX integrated the KTR 120 Bin Carrier into the operations of the fruit co-operative Mivor, the largest fruit processor in Europe. The KTR 120 has a load capacity of up to 12 tonnes and can transport up to 28 apple bins at the same time. Thanks to its synchronous vertical lift, loads can be picked up safely and precisely. Two hydraulic safety devices ensure the secure transport of this sensitive cargo. The vehicle’s compact design allows it to operate in narrow aisles and enables bins to be picked up quickly from cold stores. Transport is powered by an emission-free electric drive, which is particularly beneficial indoors, ensuring clean air, lower noise levels and a healthier working environment.
