Mobile assembly and supply platforms EPL
for efficient aircraft assembly and maintenance in FAL and MRO
Load capacities up to 11,000 lbs
Omnidirectional steering
Slow and line moving function available
The mobile, omnidirectional work platforms of the HUBTEX EPL series have been specifically developed for the high demands of aircraft assembly (FAL) and aircraft maintenance (MRO). They transport operators and materials reliably, efficiently, and precisely to the desired position – even in confined areas of the final assembly line or maintenance hangar.
Thanks to their omnidirectional steering system, the self-propelled platforms provide maximum maneuverability – ideal for working on sensitive aircraft structures. With load capacities up to 11,000 lbs (5.0 metric tons), an all-electric drive, and optional functions such as slow moving, line moving, or remote control, they are a flexible solution for production, maintenance, and inspection processes in the aviation industry. Depending on the application, the EPL platforms are available with a scissor lift system for compact models or a hydraulic lift system with 2-, 3-, or 4-mast designs.

EPL assembly platforms for the final assembly line and maintenance, repair and overhaul
Safe load lifting, precise control and seamless integration
Seamless integration into existing FAL and MRO processes
HUBTEX mobile work platforms can be seamlessly integrated into manufacturing workflows and assembly processes in aircraft production. With their high adaptability, precise controllability, and modular design, they offer maximum flexibility for individual requirements in aircraft assembly. This supports the efficient design of production lines, shortens cycle times, and contributes significantly to the optimization of complex workflows in the final assembly of aircraft (FAL).
In addition, the EPL platforms demonstrate their strengths in aircraft maintenance (MRO – Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) by providing safe access at height, millimeter-precise positioning, and efficient material handling in hangars and service areas across the aviation industry.

Safe load lifting in the FAL and hangar
With an omnidirectional mobile assembly and supply platform from HUBTEX, even large loads can be lifted safely and reliably in the Final Assembly Line (FAL) or during aircraft maintenance (MRO). Thanks to the customized mast configuration, the platforms can be adapted to different lifting requirements. Depending on the application, the EPL platforms are available with a scissor lift system for more compact models or a hydraulic lift system with 2-, 3-, or 4-mast designs. The 4-mast system offers additional advantages by anchoring part of the platform firmly to the aircraft while the other part is used as a load lift.
Features
Depending on the platform size and area of application, HUBTEX uses two lifting systems:
Smaller work platforms can be equipped with a compact scissor lift system that allows lifting heights of up to 15 ft.
For larger platform solutions, hydraulic mast lift systems are available with 2, 3 or 4 masts, depending on the task. The 4-mast system allows part of the platform to be positioned stationary on the aircraft, while the other part is used as a load lift – ideal for lifting heights of up to 21 ft.
The vehicles are fitted with robust polyurethane tires, allowing them to carry heavy loads. Small wheel diameters enable low ground clearance.
HUBTEX EPL platforms are equipped with an omnidirectional drive system that enables lengthwise, crosswise, diagonal and circular movement. This provides maximum maneuverability in confined spaces – a decisive advantage in complex production environments.
With the aid of partially automated laser scanners, the vehicle can be optimally aligned with its target object, for example an aircraft fuselage or work platform, with no collisions.
Laser scanners facilitate collision-free positioning and collision-free handling of the vehicle.
A laser system prevents the risk of hitting a person or an object when the supply platform is being lowered. If a warning signal is detected, the platform switches off automatically.
Access authorization for driving the vehicle is granted via a customer-specific control system, for example via a barcode scanner.
A human-machine interface provides information about the vehicle’s essential operating information. This provides the driver with information on the battery charge status, vehicle diagnoses, service intervals or risk situations. At the same time, the HMI display enables the integration of assistance systems, such as maintaining distances.
Through the use of lithium-ion batteries, users benefit from the long operating times and from a quick return on investment due to the significantly reduced incidental and consequential costs. The use of exchange batteries can usually be dispensed with in these cases. Batteries can fully recharge within one hour. With advancements in energy regeneration, lithium-ion batteries absorb energy flows fed back from the vehicle.
