Starting point: lumber, panels, profiles—and limited space
At Tigris Building Solutions in Plombières, Belgium, a wide range of materials meets tight travel lanes: palletized goods, long lumber profiles, and sheet goods must be moved every day between storage, woodworking equipment, and truck loading—indoors and outdoors. “We’ve been working with HUBTEX for almost 20 years. Very good machines, easy to operate, and reliable after-sales service,” says Abger Cavas, who oversees the Plombières site. The fleet concept needed to combine safe long-load handling with efficient pallet handling—without adding more vehicles or creating extra moves.
Solution: two FLUX 30s for mixed loads, MQ 45 for dedicated long loads
At the heart of the solution are two HUBTEX FLUX 30 trucks. The electric multidirectional forklift switches at the push of a button from a counterbalance mode (for pallets) to a sideloader mode (for long loads)—a 2-in-1 capability that boosts productivity in mixed operations. The 360° HX steering enables smooth direction changes without stopping and makes maneuvering in tight areas easier. At Tigris, both FLUX 30s are equipped with a lift height of 7,400 mm (about 24 ft), matched to the rack height in the pallet and sheet-goods warehouse.
The fleet is complemented by a HUBTEX MQ 45. As a multidirectional sideloader, it shines in dedicated long-load applications: high residual capacities, precise load handling, and a long-load fork carriage that provides stable support surfaces. With a maximum lift height of 8,500 mm (about 28 ft), the MQ 45 at Tigris also services higher rack levels—an advantage for maximizing space utilization in high-bay storage
„We currently have three HUBTEX trucks in operation, which are highly valued, and we’re already in discussions about purchasing a fourth,” Cavas reports.
Real-world value: truck loading, internal transport, machine feeding—seamless indoors and out
In daily operations, the FLUX/MQ combination covers three core tasks:
- Loading and unloading trucks:
In counterbalance mode, the FLUX handles the classic dock and yard transfer processes. With 360° HX steering, the truck can be positioned precisely without time-consuming back-and-forth repositioning—reducing cycle times and lowering the risk of contact near doors and in the yard.
Moving material in the warehouse and production areas:
In sideloader mode, the FLUX transports long profiles and panels safely through narrow aisles. For heavy or especially long loads, the MQ 45 is used—its sideloader geometry and long-load fork carriage are purpose-built for that work.- Feeding woodworking machines:
Both FLUX 30s deliver loads directly to saws, presses, or CNC machines—palletized or long. The MQ 45 takes over when large components must be set down precisely at machine positions or when rack service heights up to 8,500 mm are required.
Another advantage: all three trucks operate indoors and outdoors. Rugged design and appropriate tires support continuous material flow between the building and the outdoor yard - without switching equipment.
Conclusion:
For Tigris Building Solutions, the combination of two FLUX 30s and one MQ 45 reduces equipment changes, repositioning time, and risk in long-load handling. The FLUX trucks’ 2-in-1 capability is ideal for mixed loads, while the MQ 45 reaches higher rack levels and maximizes storage density. The long-term partnership—and the planned fleet expansion—underscore the day-to-day value in real operations.
