TRANSPORTING AIR CARGO SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY AT THE TERMINAL

The transport of air cargo is facing special challenges. According to Boeing, transport volumes are expected to more than double by 2037. But even now, ULD handling must be highly efficient and safe. This is because the majority of the goods transported are high-value, transport-sensitive or time-sensitive.

In most cases, different equipment is used for the various tasks involved in ULD handling. Trucks have to be unloaded, goods have to be stored and loaded onto the aircraft.  A whole fleet of different equipment is needed for this. This equipment is mainly truck docks, ULD movers, ULD pallet movers, stacker cranes and transfer vehicles.

Until now, all of this equipment has had its share in ULD handling. What if a single vehicle was sufficient for ULD handling? It could certainly make a huge difference in helping companies stay on top of increasing demands.

WHAT CHARACTERISTICS MUST AN ALLROUND VEHICLE HAVE?

This vehicle must be able to efficiently transport the high value goods and ULDs without damage. Also, it must not be limited to indoor use. It must be able to be used both indoors and outdoors so that it can load and unload aircraft. The vehicle must also be able to perform various tasks quickly and flexibly. It is imperative that the vehicle meets these and several other requirements in order to be a true allround vehicle.

If you want to know more about these requirements and whether they match your needs, download the whitepaper.

HOW DOES OUR ALLROUND VEHICLE FIT THESE REQUIREMENTS?

In cooperation with DIMOS, we have developed a vehicle that meets all these requirements: The X-Way Mover. It is now already in use in a number of cargo terminals, where it contributes to safe and fast ULD handling.

It replaces truck docks, cargo transporters, stacker cranes up to the third level and transfer vehicles. For pallet movers and at large freight facilities, it can serve as a backup device. Do you want to go a step further and are already thinking about automating ULD handling? The X-Way Mover is also available as an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle).

But why exactly can the X-Way Mover handle these tasks? In the whitepaper, you will learn more about eight different reasons why. We will also show you how the X-Way Mover can be perfectly adapted to your needs. As a manufacturer of customized vehicles, this point in particular is extremely important to us. After all, you should benefit for a long time and be completely satisfied with our solution.
