Mobilization of work platforms and stationary installations for the construction of aircraft

by Hubtex

These HUBTEX vehicles lift work platforms in coupled operation. The target position under the load is approached accurately and collision-free with the aid of a sensor-supported assistance system. Another mobilization solution is the combination of electrically steered drive units and load wheel units. These units can be retrofitted to stationary work platforms in order to upgrade them to a mobile system through coupling operation.

HL-AGV

Another application example is the HUBTEX HL-AGV platform truck, which lifts work platforms when coupled with a second vehicle. The target position under the load is approached accurately and collision-free with the aid of a sensor-supported assistance system. In coupled operation, both HL-AGVs can be controlled via one control panel located on the work platform. Sensitive movement (multidirectional steering) and lifting are now always synchronous and purely electric. The work platform can now be lifted up to 6.5 meters.

OMNIDIRECTIONAL VEHICLE (ODV)

As an alternative to mobilizing work platforms, our omnidirectional vehicles (ODV) can be docked to work platforms. In coupled operation, several ODV can move a work platform. In addition, the vehicles can be used as conventional tractors in production.

Innovative automation solution

An innovative automation solution in the aviation industry is the combination of the electrically steered WDU drive units and WU load wheel units. These units can be retrofitted to existing stationary work platforms in order to upgrade them to a mobile system through the coupling operation. This drive concept is completed by an electric cabinet, a lithium-ion battery as well as a radio remote control to operate the chassis. With the help of the specific multidirectional steering electronics, precise positional movement of the load is now possible in all directions. In addition, extensive safety and guidance equipment can be integrated to precisely monitor the routes and guide the vehicle to an exact location. Depending on the load capacity requirements, the WDU and WU can be extended to up to 16 units, allowing a maximum system load of up to 125 tons to be moved.

Features

Operation
Fernbedienung für die Luftfahrtindustrie von HUBTEX

The ODV and HL-AGV vehicles are operated via a remote control. This remote control is located on the respective work platforms. A customer-specific HMI display helps the operator to drive the vehicle. The system provides information on the general operating status, but also has assistance systems such as distance control.

Ident system

Access authorization for driving the vehicle is granted via a customer-specific control system, for example via a barcode scanner.

Coupling mode
HUBTEX platform transporter with wireless coupling operation

The target position under the load is approached accurately and collision-free with the aid of a sensor-supported assistance system. In coupled operation via Bluetooth, both vehicles can be controlled via one control panel located on the work platform.

HMI display

A human-machine interface provides information about the vehicle’s essential operating information. This provides the driver with information on the battery charge status, vehicle diagnoses, service intervals or risk situations. At the same time, the HMI display enables the integration of assistance systems, such as maintaining distances.

Tractor operation

In addition to the mobilizing of work platforms, the vehicle also serves as a conventional tractor. In this mode, workstands and trailers can be moved variably within the production line.

Battery and charging technology

Through the use of lithium-ion batteries, users with long operating times benefit from a quick return on investment due to the significantly reduced incidental and consequential costs. The use of exchange batteries can usually be dispensed with in these cases. Batteries can fully recharge within one hour. With advancements in energy regeneration, lithium-ion batteries absorb energy flows fed back from the vehicle.

Tire equipment

The vehicles are equipped with special polyurethane soft tires to ensure a particularly good grip on the ground. This prevents tires from spinning.
