Mobile assembly and supply platforms EPL
for efficient aircraft assembly and maintenance in FAL and MRO
Load capacities up to 5,0 tons
Omnidirectional steering
Slow and line moving function available
The mobile, omnidirectional work platforms of the HUBTEX EPL type have been specifically developed for the high demands of aircraft assembly and aircraft maintenance (MRO). They transport fitters and materials reliably, efficiently and precisely to the desired position – even in confined areas of the production hall in the final assembly line (FAL) or in the hangar.
Thanks to their omnidirectional steering system, the self-propelled platforms offer maximum manoeuvrability – ideal for working on sensitive aircraft structures. Load capacities of up to 5 tonnes, a purely electric drive and optional functions such as slow moving, line moving or remote control make them a flexible solution for production, maintenance and inspection processes in the aviation industry. Depending on the application requirements, the EPL platforms are available with a scissor lift system for more compact models or a hydraulic lift system with 2-, 3- or 4-mast designs.

EPL assembly platforms for the final assembly line and maintenance, repair and overhaul
Safe load lifting, precise control and seamless integration
Seamless integration into existing FAL and MRO manufacturing and maintenance processes
HUBTEX mobile work platforms can be seamlessly integrated into existing manufacturing workflows and assembly processes in aircraft production. Thanks to their high adaptability, precise controllability and modular design, they offer maximum flexibility for individual requirements in aircraft manufacturing. They thus support the efficient design of production lines, shorten cycle times and contribute significantly to the optimisation of complex work processes in the final assembly of aircraft. In addition, EPL platforms also demonstrate their strengths in aircraft maintenance (maintenance, repair & overhaul – MRO), enabling safe access at height, millimetre-precise positioning and efficient material provision in hangars and service areas in the aviation industry.

Safe load lifting in the FAL and hangar
With an omnidirectional mobile assembly and supply platform from HUBTEX, even large loads can be lifted safely and reliably in the FAL or during aircraft maintenance (MRO). Thanks to the customised mast configuration, the platforms can be adapted to the different lifting requirements of our customers. Depending on the application requirements, the EPL platforms are available with a scissor lift system for more compact models or a hydraulic lift system with 2, 3 or 4 masts. The 4-mast system in particular offers additional advantages by positioning part of the platform firmly on the aircraft while the other part is used as a load lift.
Features
HUBTEX EPL platforms are equipped with an omnidirectional drive system that enables lengthwise, crosswise, diagonal and circular movement. This provides maximum manoeuvrability in confined spaces – a decisive advantage in complex production environments.
Depending on the platform size and area of application, HUBTEX uses two lifting systems:
Smaller work platforms can be equipped with a compact scissor lift system that allows lifting heights of up to 4.5 metres.
For larger platform solutions, hydraulic mast lift systems are available with 2, 3 or 4 masts, depending on the task. The 4-mast system allows part of the platform to be positioned stationary on the aircraft, while the other part is used as a load lift – ideal for lifting heights of up to 6.5 metres.
The vehicles are fitted with robust polyurethane tyres, allowing them to carry heavy loads. Small wheel diameters enable low ground clearance.
The platform is controlled either directly from the work platform or via a remote control. The remote control is equipped with joysticks, emergency stop buttons, a horn and other options. The integrated display on the remote control shows all relevant system information in real time.
Optional laser scanners ensure collision-free navigation and precise alignment with aircraft fuselages or neighbouring platforms.
In aircraft assembly, and especially on the final assembly line (FAL), the safety of people, materials and machines is the top priority. HUBTEX offers a comprehensive, multi-level safety and assistance system for its EPL assembly platforms, which is specifically customised to the requirements of aircraft manufacturing and aircraft maintenance (maintenance, repair & overhaul – MRO).
A central element is the intelligent collision protection: with the aid of state-of-the-art sensor technology – including ultrasonic sensors, lidar, 360° cameras and visual and acoustic warning systems – the platforms reliably detect obstacles and reduce blind spots. Warning lights, floor projections and emergency stop buttons provide additional safety in daily operation – both in final assembly and during maintenance and inspection work in hangars.
The safety package is complemented by automatic braking and stop functions, height and range limitations and intelligent speed adjustments – all designed to protect sensitive components and precisely control work in confined areas. Mechanical protective devices such as bumpers, safety railings and personnel scanners further increase protection for users.
In addition, other assistance systems such as integrated load monitoring, automatic shutdown in the event of overload and reduced platform vibration ensure stable, safe and ergonomic working conditions – even when working at great heights, during sensitive cabin and fuselage assembly or during maintenance work on aircraft structures, engines and avionics systems.
The platforms are equipped with lithium-ion batteries , which enable a high energy density and therefore long operating times with a short charging time and resulting low operating costs.
