The transport of heavy and large loads poses a particular challenge. The SFB platform transporters from HUBTEX rise to this challenge. The platform transporters are self-propelled vehicles with a large loading area which is used for the internal transport of all types of heavy load, such as sheet metal, steel girders, coils, machine parts, installations, castings and tools.
Its modular design means that the platform truck can be adapted to many customer-specific requirements. A solution designed precisely for your application offers you maximum benefit, high vehicle availability and a long service life. 

Ready for AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle)

Our platform transporters can currently be operated either via cab, driver station or remote control.  With regard to Industry 4.0, there is the option of automation with our vehicles, making even complex automation processes in your company possible. 

Coupling mode

Another innovative equipment variant is the coupling mode. This facilitates the wireless coupling of two truck elements to create a stable transport system with double the total load capacity of a single platform. Both platforms are in permanent communication during transportation and can be operated together via radio remote control or can be fully automated if required.

"Small but perfectly formed" – Minimum overall height

The platform transporter with the currently lowest overall height in the HUBTEX portfolio of only 457 mm has a load capacity of up to 35 tons. Impressive is the fact that the vehicle simultaneously has a platform lift of 203 mm. This means that the platform transporter, which is equipped with a wide variety of assistance systems, can independently drive under the load, lift it and transport it away.

Steering systems

Three different steering systems are available for our platform transporters. We will recommend the appropriate option for you based on your aisle widths and drive-in situations. Single-axle steering is the standard variant for many applications. If the vehicle is longer, all-wheel steering is often recommended in order to reduce the turning circle. The measure of all things when it comes to maneuverability is the omnidirectional steering of all wheels with longitudinal and transverse drive. In its maximum expansion stage as an HX steering system, it facilitates smooth changes of direction (not available for all types).

HUBTEX is characterized by the highest quality standards with 35 years of experience in steel construction. This is why our platform transporters impress with an optimally robust steel structural frame that can be adapted to your requirements as necessary. Thanks to their compact chassis, the “small” power packs allow for low drive-in heights if it is necessary to drive under loads to lift them. A wide range of coating options guarantees the best handling conditions. You can choose the standard steel version as well as between various load protection coatings such as wood and plastic. Another advantage of our stable and durable chassis is their ease of service. Thanks to the optimum design, a large number of the components, such as the hydraulics, are easily accessible. This means that servicing can be carried out without requiring large time slots.

Different tire variants are possible depending on the ground conditions and application. Due to this flexibility, it is even possible to transport tools weighing 65 tons over asphalt. There are three tire variants to choose from:

  •      Polyurethane (PU)
  •      Elastic (EL)
  •      Pneumatic tires

Which tires will be right for your vehicle is determined individually, depending on the platform’s application. Polyurethane tires are usually chosen for smooth industrial floors with elastic and pneumatic tires used primarily when floors are in poor condition and for outside. 

Operation

Our SFB platform transporters can be operated either via remote control or from a driver's cab. The remote control may be either a radio remote control or a cable remote control. The radio remote control is equipped with joysticks for precision control. Alternatively, a cable remote control is also available. This can be connected to the vehicle via several sockets.
Alternatively, operation can be carried out conventionally from a cab. This is especially suitable for usage over long distances. If drivers are required to get on and off the vehicle frequently, a variant with a stand-up cab is recommended.

In order to react flexibly to different load lengths, the upper platform may be moved if required. This offers flexible options for the transport of load racks, molded parts or installations.
